Ritzy Miami steakhouse manager held on ICE detainer after mom found stabbed to death

A Miami steakhouse manager allegedly emerged from his luxury apartment covered in blood and clutching a knife before telling police he had acted in self-defense after his mother was found stabbed to death inside.

Stefano Eduardo Cremasco-Cicero, 36, told officers, "I was defending myself," after Miami police were called to the Brickell high-rise early Friday, according to an arrest report obtained by WPLG.

Cremasco-Cicero is charged with second-degree murder with a weapon, Miami-Dade County jail records show.

Officers were dispatched at about 4:47 a.m. for an "unknown request for police assistance," according to the outlet.

Officers found Cremasco-Cicero in the lobby with blood on his hands, clothing and shoes, the outlet reported.

He allegedly directed officers upstairs to the apartment.

Inside the apartment, police found his mother lying behind the front door with multiple apparent stab wounds, according to WPLG. Miami Fire Rescue pronounced her dead shortly after 5 a.m.

Authorities have not publicly identified the woman or disclosed her age. Police said she was visiting from Mexico and staying with her son.

The unusual chain of events began when a food delivery driver arrived at the building and encountered Cremasco-Cicero in the lobby, according to the report.

He allegedly opened the door for the driver and asked her to call 911. Cremasco-Cicero ultimately placed the call himself but handed the phone to the woman so she could give the dispatcher the building information, WPLG reported.

The driver noticed blood on him as they waited for police, according to the outlet. When she tried to return his phone, he allegedly refused to take it, and she later handed it to responding officers.

Investigators then turned to surveillance video and building access records to piece together what happened in the hours before police arrived.

Surveillance video showed Cremasco-Cicero and his mother returning to the building together at about 10:32 p.m. Thursday, according to WPLG. They were reportedly alone in the elevator.

At about 4:26 a.m., surveillance video allegedly captured Cremasco-Cicero entering an elevator wearing a white shirt, khaki pants and white shoes that appeared to be covered in blood. Police said he was carrying a knife.

He allegedly dropped the knife after stepping out of the elevator, picked it back up and rode another elevator upstairs, according to the report.

Investigators said Cremasco-Cicero later reappeared in a different, long-sleeved blue shirt and walked out of the building while using his phone. He returned minutes later and sat on a couch in the lobby before flagging down the delivery driver, WPLG reported.

Police said Cremasco-Cicero had small cuts on his hands and blood residue on his body and clothing. Crime scene investigators photographed him and collected his clothes, according to the outlet.

After obtaining a search warrant, homicide detectives allegedly recovered several kitchen knives with blood on them, blood-spattered shirts, broken glass and a broken wine bottle from the apartment, WPLG reported.

Cremasco-Cicero’s wife told detectives she was in France attending a wedding when the killing happened, according to the report. She said her husband and his mother had not been close since his parents divorced and that he had recently been under stress while preparing to open a restaurant in Coconut Grove.

The Miami Herald identified Cremasco-Cicero as the U.S. operating manager of the high-end 1986 Steakhouse in Miami.

The arrest report identified Cremasco-Cicero as a Miami resident through an investor visa, according to WPLG.

Miami-Dade Corrections records reviewed by Fox News Digital show Cremasco-Cicero was booked Friday night and is being held at the Turner Guilford Knight Correctional Center. The records list no bond, a domestic-violence designation and a hold for immigration authorities.

The jail record does not provide additional details about the immigration hold.

A Department of Homeland Security spokesperson confirmed to Fox News Digital that Cremasco-Cicero is an illegal immigrant.

"On August 5, 2026, ICE lodged a detainer for Stefano Eduardo Cremasco Cicero, a criminal illegal alien from Mexico, charged with homicide," the DHS spokesperson said. "We are calling on Florida to honor our detainer. His claims will be heard by an immigration judge and he will receive due process. This administration will not ignore the rule of law."

"Under President Trump and Secretary Mullin, if you break the law, you will face the consequences," the spokesperson added. "Criminal illegal aliens are not welcome in the U.S."

A motive for the killing remains unclear.

Judge denies ousted Stars and Stripes journalists effort to reverse Pentagon's firings

A federal judge Friday denied a request from the trio of ousted Stars and Stripes journalists to reverse the Pentagon's firing of them.

U.S. District Judge Trevor McFadden denied a temporary restraining order filed by Stars and Stripes publisher Max Lederer, editor in chief Erik Slavin and reporter Lara Korte, claiming they "ultimately fail to carry their significant burden to show that they are clearly entitled to a preliminary injunction."

In a joint statement to Fox News Digital, the three journalists expressed their disappointment with McFadden's decision but insist it's not the "final judgment."

"We are reviewing the decision with our attorneys and considering our next steps," Lederer, Slavin and Korte said. "We continue to believe that the Pentagon should not be able to fire journalists for speaking out against censorship and defending the editorial independence of Stars and Stripes."

"This case is not primarily about the three of us. It is about whether the servicemembers who swear to defend the Constitution, and the military families who serve alongside them, can rely on a free and independent press. Chief Pentagon spokesman Sean Parnell touted the legal win on social media.

"The court applied settled Supreme Court law: public employees do not receive First Amendment protection when they speak with the government’s voice," Parnell wrote on X. "The record showed these interviews were arranged with supervisor involvement, conducted at Stripes workplaces, and presented the speakers in their official titles, discussing the paper they run. That is government speech, not private-citizen speech."

"Stars and Stripes is a Department of War publication funded to inform the military community," Parnell continued. "The Department has both the authority and the responsibility to ensure it remains focused on the force — warfighting, readiness, and the men and women who serve — rather than becoming a platform for airing employee grievances. We will follow the law and complete the personnel process."

Last month, the Pentagon fired the journalists from the military newspaper over alleged insubordination. In return, they filed a lawsuit alleging retaliation and violation of their First Amendment rights.

The firings stem from Slavin and Korte's unauthorized participation in a July "CBS Sunday Morning" segment about the Pentagon's efforts to overhaul the paper and Lederer's refusal to fire them at the direction of Pentagon leadership.

According to the lawsuit, the trio allege Pentagon leadership "understood these interview statements expressed personal opinions, and therefore took no immediate action, despite their displeasure" and that it wasn't until Stars and Stripes published its report on the alleged strife aboard USS Abraham Lincoln that the Pentagon's stance had shifted.

The lawsuit notes that Pentagon leadership demanded Lederer to fire Slavin and Korte just one day after the report was published.

Listed as the defendants in the lawsuit are the Pentagon, Secretary of War Pete Hegseth, Parnell and his principal deputy assistant, Andrew Brey.

In an interview with Fox News Digital, Slavin insisted the Pentagon never explicitly stated how he and Korte were deemed insubordinate for the CBS News interview, noting that he had given many other media interviews without having to seek authorization from Pentagon leadership.

"This isn't about me. It's not about three jobs. It's about whether servicemembers and their families are gonna have access to independent news and information and news that they can trust," Slavin said. "And it's my concern for our staff that they might face further retaliation if they make statements along the lines of 'Hey, we work for Stars and Stripes and we provide independent news.' So this is about protecting an institution, in my mind."

A Georgia woman who just celebrated her 112th birthday credits her longevity to staying close to her family and embracing her strong religious faith.

Mabel Dunbar, of Fayetteville, Georgia, was born in Jamaica in 1914. She is the mother of one, grandmother of four and a great-grandmother, and was honored by loved ones on her birthday Sept. 5 with a custom berry cake, flowers and a crown, FOX 5 Atlanta reported.

"God is love and I love my families," Dunbar said at her party. "I love all my families and strangers."

In a 2016 study published in JAMA Internal Medicine, researchers at the Harvard T.H. Chan School of Public Health examined religious service attendance and health outcomes among 74,534 women over 16 years.

Virginia mom placed on child abuse registry for 7 years after letting 5-year-old walk alone

A Virginia mom is appealing a criminal charge and her placement on the state’s child abuse and neglect registry after her 5-year-old son was stopped by security while walking alone through their gated community.

Karyann Parkinson said her son, Sam, had been walking along a familiar neighborhood path past a pond to collect goose feathers when a security guard encountered him and brought him home.

Police and Child Protective Services became involved, and Parkinson, who was eight months pregnant at the time, had her six-month jail sentence suspended, but the charge remains.

She was convicted of contributing to the delinquency of a minor, a first-degree misdemeanor, and was also placed on Virginia's Child Abuse and Neglect Central Registry for seven years.

Parkinson said she understands the shock people feel hearing about a child alone near a body of water, but sought to clarify what happened that day.

I know that a lot of people have seen the headlines and seen '5-year-old alone at a pond.' And I think if I saw that in isolation, I'd probably be alarmed, too."

"Now it's just a blip on his radar. It's not really a part of his life anymore," she added.

Democrat challenging Mike Lawler won't commit on campaigning with AOC, Mamdani or rejecting DSA

Democratic U.S. congressional candidate Cait Conley told CNN's "State of the Union" that she would not campaign alongside New York City Mayor Zohran Mamdani or Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, D-N.Y., but did not directly answer whether Democrats should reject the Democratic Socialists of America (DSA).

The group's influence in New York has become an issue in her bid to unseat Republican Rep. Mike Lawler. Anchor Dana Bash asked Conley whether she would campaign alongside Mamdani or Ocasio-Cortez after noting Lawler has sought to link his opponent to the Democratic Party's socialist wing.

"No, Dana, I‘m good up here making the case to the voters in the New York 17th Congressional District," Conley said.

Lawler's campaign manager, Ciro Riccardi, told Fox News Digital on Sunday that Conley's appearance demonstrated why the campaign has criticized her over debates and accused her of failing to distance herself from the DSA.

"Now everyone is seeing why Cait Conley has ducked and dodged debate challenges with Congressman Lawler. She’s incapable of answering direct questions without showing her true colors," he said. "Cait Conley’s refusal to disavow Zohran Mamdani and the DSA is disqualifying. She is just as extreme as the rest and that was exposed today for all to see, including embracing impeachment."

Lawler previously told Fox News Digital that he challenged Conley to six debates after her Democratic primary victory, while Conley's campaign said she agreed to two debates hosted by local networks.

Bash separately pointed to Rep. Tom Suozzi’s, D-N.Y., calls for his party to confront the DSA and asked Conley whether she agreed. Conley did not directly state whether she believed Democrats should reject the organization, instead discussing political division within both parties.

Suozzi has taken a more explicit position toward the socialist organization, telling Fox News Digital in August that Democrats would have to address the DSA's influence and reject its policy positions.

"I don't ascribe to any of those ideas at all, and I think that there's very little support for those ideas," Suozzi said.

Lawler’s campaign has previously pressed Conley over her relationship with the Democratic Party’s progressive wing after Ocasio-Cortez congratulated Conley on winning the Democratic primary in June. Riccardi at the time challenged Conley to state whether she rejected Ocasio-Cortez and other candidates associated with the party’s left flank.

"Which is it, Cait: do you reject AOC and the candidates who want to abolish ICE, defund the police, and tear down our borders, or do you embrace them?" Riccardi said.

Conley, a 16-year Army veteran who served on former President Joe Biden's National Security Council, won a crowded Democratic primary in June and is challenging two-term incumbent Lawler in a closely watched Hudson Valley contest that could determine control of the House.

Detransitioner takes malpractice fight to appeals court after North Carolina law change

A detransitioner’s malpractice lawsuit against doctors she says counseled her for years to undergo a double mastectomy and begin hormone therapy was initially dismissed as untimely, but a new North Carolina law has allowed her to appeal. The state Court of Appeals will hear arguments on Sept. 29.

Prisha Mosley, now 28, was first prescribed hormones at 17 and underwent a double mastectomy at 18. She later sued the doctors and other medical providers for fraud and malpractice, alleging they misled her about the treatment and its effects.

"I'm a mammal, a human, so I wasn't able to change sex. I didn't need to change sex because that's not possible and nothing was ever wrong with my body. Destroying it with hormones and surgery did not make me happy or well," she told Fox News Digital in an interview.

A trial court in North Carolina initially dismissed Mosley's lawsuit on the basis of the statute of limitations. But, as Mosley explained to Fox News Digital, a law passed in North Carolina in 2025 extended the statute of limitations for medical malpractice lawsuits specifically for people who have undergone gender transitions.

"During the process through which my lawsuit was going through the courts, North Carolina passed HB 808, which was previously HB 805, which is something along the lines of the Protect Children and Women's Act," Mosley explained.

"[The law] extended the statute of limitations for anyone bringing forward a civil case, and even had a line which said that this includes cases that have already been brought forward or even pending in the courts now," she continued.

Legislators in North Carolina passed the bill in 2025, overriding a veto from Democratic Gov. Josh Stein.

Though the bill was passed in July 2025, a North Carolina trial judge still dismissed Mosley's lawsuit in August 2025, denying her lawyers' motion to reinstate her medical malpractice claims during a special session and granting summary judgment to the plaintiffs.

"Despite this, my claims were dismissed with prejudice, even though they had been previously found to have merit for fraud. The malpractice was still in question due to the statute of limitations, and then after the passage of the law, the entire case was dismissed," Mosley told Fox News Digital.

Mosley was initially encouraged by the judge's decision to deny the defendants' motion to dismiss, taking it as a signal her fraud accusations could have merit.

"The judge actually originally found that my case did have merit for fraud, and that was on the basis that I was told that I could actually change sex, which is not possible, and I was not only told that I could change sex, but that I needed to do so in order to survive and that doing so would ensure I had a good life. All of these claims are false," she told Fox News Digital.

But after her lawsuit's final dismissal in August, her lawyers appealed, leading to the upcoming Sept. 29 appellate court oral arguments.

Mosley is arguing that the doctors who counseled her into the double mastectomy and hormone therapy misled her by telling her she could become a man and go through male puberty, which she says was a lie.

"I consented to quote unquote top surgery, and I was under the impression that top surgery was the surgery that turned a female chest into a male chest, and that's simply not what happened to me. In fact, I had complications related to my surgery," she told Fox News Digital.

"Clearly I didn't have a male chest, and the guarantees weren't promised that way. But it's also impossible to induce puberty of the opposite sex because it's impossible to change sex. I wasn't going through male puberty. I was being put through menopause as a teenager, and while inducing all of these medical issues and problems for me, my doctors just covered it up with these fraudulent terms that made it seem like something good and medically sound was happening to me when it was not. Even when I complained about side effects and said that I was suffering from pain and acne and other issues, they told me that this was because of male puberty," she explained.

Mosley said that she realized she had been lied to when, though she was still identifying as a male at the time, her fiancé's young daughter kept referring to her as "mommy."

"Despite the fact that I still had a beard at the time and I was wearing male clothes and all of that, this little girl started calling me mommy, and that's just where everything fell into place for me," she told Fox News Digital.

Mosley said she was encouraged by a recent ruling in New York, where 22-year-old detransitioner, Fox Varians, sued the psychologist and plastic surgeon who counseled her to undergo a gender transition, winning $2 million in a judgment.

Mosley pointed out that no detransitioners suing their medical providers for malpractice have ever lost their cases in trial.

"I think it's clear to people that this type of medicalization is wrong, and it points to the fact, you know, Fox Varian's is the only detransitioner case that's ever made it to court. None of our cases, not mine, not anyone else's, have ever failed in court. We're being stopped by strange policies and statutes of limitations before we ever go before a jury. But the general public knows that what happened to us is wrong and that we deserve justice for what happened to us," she told Fox News Digital.

Rabbinic group accuses Jewish entertainers of 'whitewashing antisemitism' in Mark Ruffalo defense

FIRST ON FOX — A rabbinic group is calling out some Jewish entertainers for "whitewashing antisemitism" by supporting actor Mark Ruffalo after his harsh opposition to the proposed Warner Bros. Discovery-Paramount merger.

More than 170 Jewish entertainers and artists signed a letter Tuesday "proudly" voicing support for Ruffalo after he was accused of antisemitism when criticizing the proposed $111 billion merger.

Coalition for Jewish Values, which represents over 2,500 traditional, Orthodox rabbis in American public policy, said it typically does not respond when a Hollywood figure says something it finds hateful about Jews or Israel. But the group believes Ruffalo’s comments forced a group of Jewish Hollywood figures that have "little knowledge of Jewish history or the nature of antisemitism" to "deny obvious bigotry."

"Ruffalo did not merely criticize a business deal. In an August 22 Instagram post tying the Paramount-Skydance/Warner Bros. merger to Oracle's work with Israel, Ruffalo claimed that the Ellison family — who are Jewish — were ‘powering some of the most destructive and inhuman forces in the world,’ and framed a corporate transaction as built on ‘genocide’ and ‘apartheid.’ That is not policy criticism, but mischaracterization of civil rights for Jews and Arabs as racism, and the rescue of Jewish hostages as murder," the Coalition for Jewish Values said in a statement.

"Nonetheless, more than 170 Jewish entertainment figures rushed to sign a letter dismissing the antisemitism charge as an ‘outrageous smear campaign.’ To be certain, they are entitled to their ignorant and misguided views," the statement continued. "They are not, however, entitled to be taken seriously when they engage in whitewashing antisemitism, or suggest that those with sufficient discernment to recognize the oldest of anti-Jewish tropes should deny the obvious."

The group said that "America set itself apart from much of the world precisely by declaring hatred of Jews unwelcome, regardless of who dressed it up as righteousness," and feels "Ruffalo would do well to remember that he owes much of his career to the Founding Fathers who made America so hospitable, and the Jews who fled persecution in Europe to build new homes for their children in a friendlier land."

"It is some of those children, working in New York in the early 20th century, who created Marvel Comics and invented The Incredible Hulk," the group said.

Rabbi Yaakov Menken, executive vice president of the Coalition for Jewish Values, told Fox News Digital that Ruffalo's remarks were "embarrassing" and that Ruffalo presented a "mythical inversion" of the situation in the Middle East.

Ruffalo was accused of invoking "antisemitic tropes" by Paramount after the Marvel star shared a video from August of Safra Catz, an Oracle executive vice chair and Paramount board member, discussing technology Oracle used to assist Israel after the Oct. 7 Hamas terrorist attack.

He linked Oracle co-founder Larry Ellison, the father of Paramount CEO David Ellison, to financing behind the proposed acquisition and suggested the merger would be used to push "oppression."

"These ‘really profoundly scary technologies’ will most likely be merged into one of the largest media conglomerates in the world and one day used on you," Ruffalo said. "Look how she revels in what we now have come to see as a genocide, which was built on an apartheid system of oppression powered by Oracle."

Among the Jewish artists who signed the letter were Abbi Jacobson, Alex Winter, Gina Gershon, Ilana Glazer, James Schamus, Joel Coen, Larry Charles, Kate Berlant, Naomi Klein, Sarah Sherman, Jane Schoenbrun, Todd Haynes and Tony Kushner, denied Ruffalo‘s comments were antisemitic, arguing that the executives Ruffalo criticized had "themselves have explicitly linked to their support for the ongoing depredations being visited on the people of Palestine and their silencing of critics of those horrors."

The celebrities also argued that a majority of American Jews now believe that Israel committed war crimes against Gaza, with a significant portion believing Israel is guilty of genocide. They called for an end to "spurious charges of antisemitism" against people like Ruffalo.

Ruffalo previously denied pushing antisemitism in a statement to Fox News Digital after Paramount's original condemnation.

"The accusation that I am antisemitic is appalling and fundamentally dishonest," Ruffalo said. "Criticizing the actions of the Israeli prime minister, a military technology contract or the executives who supply it is not the same as criticizing Jewish people."

The proposed transaction would place CNN, HBO and Warner Bros. studio assets under the Ellison family’s control. A coalition of 12 state attorneys general sued to block it on antitrust grounds, and the companies agreed not to close until five days after a court ruling on the merits or June 1, 2027, whichever comes first.

Mamdani gives influencers special access as Signal use raises records-law questions

New York City Mayor Zohran Mamdani is giving special access to a network of approximately 200 social media influencers who take City Hall talking points and videos to promote municipal programs online to residents, according to a new report.

The report, by the Columbia Journalism Review, highlights that the online personalities get their talking points through an encrypted Signal group text, called "NYC Creators Announcements."

Signal offers a disappearing-messages feature that can automatically delete messages after a set period of time if enabled. It is unclear whether that feature is active in the Mamdani administration’s group, raising questions about compliance with city record-keeping laws.

Questioned by reporters whether the use of Signal possibly breaks city laws, Mamdani said, "My administration will always strive to fully comply with all legal requirements, including those that relate to the preservation of city records."

"If there are any departures from what is legally required, my administration will look into it immediately and take corrective action," Mamdani added on Wednesday.

The use of Signal for government communications made major headlines last year, when then-Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth came under fire after sensitive, real-time details about U.S. military strikes were shared in a Signal group that included a journalist.

The Columbia Journalism Review report also said influencers are not paid by the city for participating in the group or for their coverage, although some receive payments from marketing and advertising firms with contracts from city agencies for work on specific messaging campaigns. The municipal programs promoted include voting, healthcare, immigration and tenants’ rights, participatory budgeting and composting.

City employees told researchers the payments to influencers for their work ranged from $5,000 to $20,000 per campaign, according to the report.

The Signal group was formed out of Creators4Zohran, a group that supported Mamdani’s 2025 mayoral campaign. Mamdani rocked the political world by winning election as the first socialist mayor of the nation's most populous city.

The group chat is steered by Emilia Rowland, the New York City director of new media and cultural communications. Rowland and her staff push out daily updates, talking points, and clips that the influencers can use in their posts.

The chat operates like a traditional press list used by communications teams to send updates and information to reporters.

Cities are increasingly using influencers to promote municipal services, policies and to engage the public more directly than through traditional media.

"New Yorkers get their news in a wide variety of ways, and it is our responsibility to ensure that we communicate information from city government directly to the people of the city, whether that means to all of you, to TV, to radio, to social media, to content creators and so on and so forth," Mamdani emphasized.

GOP Sen Thom Tillis urges Trump to replace Pete Hegseth, blasts Pentagon leadership

Outgoing Sen. Thom Tillis, R-N.C., called for President Donald Trump to replace War Secretary Pete Hegseth, slamming the Pentagon leader following the news that Army Secretary Dan Driscoll was resigning.

"I urge the President to find a new leader at the Pentagon who will retain and empower our military talent rather than diminish it," Tillis declared in a fiery Wednesday post on X.

Tillis praised Driscoll in the post — and apparently referring to ex-Army chief of staff Gen. Randy George (ret.), the senator declared, "He and General George began a transformative period of innovation in how we array our forces and equip our Soldiers. He challenged our legacy approach to manning and procurement. Most of all, he cared deeply about the men and women in our Army formations and quickly earned their respect."

But Tillis excoriated Hegseth.

"If we had a @SecWar who maintained the same priorities and forward-thinking, he would be fighting to retain talented leaders like Dan and the many flag officers he has forced into retirement. Instead, he is creating a leadership void at the top of our military ranks," the senator wrote.

"I served on Senate Armed Services for 8 years and as chair or ranking member of the Personnel and Readiness subcommittee. Tillis, who announced last year that he would not seek re-election, told Politico Magazine earlier this year that he would "love to see Pete Hegseth fired because he's incompetent and doing a horrible job."

The War Department declined to provide comment on Thursday.

White House spokeswoman Anna Kelly said in a statement to Fox News Digital, "After Joe Biden’s Pentagon prioritized DEI and woke ideology, President Trump and Secretary Hegseth quickly reversed course and restored a Department of War that is focused on readiness, lethality, and supporting our warfighters. The President has complete trust in Secretary Hegseth, who is doing an incredible job leading the Pentagon. Driscoll, in a Tuesday statement issued on the official Secretary of the Army X account, noted that Wednesday would be his final full day in the position.

We could not have made the progress we did without the support of Secretary Hegseth. I am forever grateful to President Trump for the opportunity to once again serve my country," he noted.

A source familiar with Driscoll's resignation indicated to Fox News that "Driscoll brought up concerns with the administration surrounding Army transformation and readiness and Hegseth's blocking those efforts specifically by firing the Generals who were responsible."

There's good news on the Orgy Dome front. Burning Man will take place with its special tents fully erected. Last year's pounding took it out.

But the folks responsible for making the magic happen every year asked for help and the people came through for the Orgy Dome.

The NY Post is reporting that the "hedonist hideaway" is "back up and running." They received the donations necessary to erect it.

They're stocked up on protection, and it's a go on getting the dome rocking during this year's festival. Sure there's lost time to make up for, but not without throwing safety out the window.

"We want an atmosphere where people are playing, and not walking around staring at people, or looking at people to pick up on. A lot of our guests, they don’t want to be picked up on by singles," an organizer said of the dome.

I had originally planned to go with another story in this slot, but when this popped up this morning, I took it as a sign. I always go where the romance takes me, and today it took me to the Orgy Dome at Burning Man.

I may still, in the future, use the other story. So I'm not going to spoil it here. The return of the Orgy Dome has far too much romance in it to ignore.

On top of that, it was a slice of good news that I felt went well with the realization that you're not quite as weird as you thought you were.

You could be under the impression that your romantic preference is weird. Okay, it could be a little weird, but not as weird as you think it is.

There are a few mentioned here by the freaks on Reddit that I would never have guessed would be romantic preferences and even if there are others into them, they're still pretty damn weird.

Sen. Bernie Moreno, R-Ohio, is demanding answers from Connecticut’s Democratic Gov. Ned Lamont after an Ohio man was killed in a car crash by an illegal immigrant who Moreno says was granted a driver's license by the blue state governor's policy.

"While one death alone is an inexcusable tragedy, Connecticut has granted over 60,000 such licenses to illegal aliens, putting countless Americans at risk on the roads. This insanity has to stop."

Moreno also called on Lamont to "immediately apologize for his state’s role in this tragedy while also account for exactly how many illegals have been given Connecticut drivers' licenses and whether or not they have used them to vote in U.S. elections."

Washington Guillermo Naula-Ochoa, 34, was driving a 2024 Ram 3500 westbound in Fulton County, Ohio on Aug. 29 when he allegedly failed to yield at a stop sign and pulled into the intersection of State Route 66, according to the Ohio State Highway Patrol.

Naula-Ochoa’s car then struck a 1993 GMC Suburban driven by Austin J. Karr Grimes, 29, of Fayette, Ohio. Grimes lost control, went partially off the roadway and overturned. He suffered fatal injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene.

Two passengers in Naula-Ochoa’s truck were uninjured, while two passengers in Grimes’ vehicle suffered minor injuries. Naula-Ochoa was charged with vehicular manslaughter and failing to yield at a stop sign.

Naula-Ochoa’s booking record at the Corrections Center of Northwest Ohio (CCNO) shows an immigration detainer lodged against him by federal authorities. Additionally, Naula-Ochoa is listed as "homeless."

"The safest way to arrest and remove criminal illegal aliens from our streets is by lodging arrest detainers," a DHS spokesperson told Fox News Digital, confirming the ICE detainer was placed on Naula-Ochoa, an Ecuadoran national. "7 of the top 10 safest cities in the United States cooperate with ICE. Our message is clear: if you come into our country illegally and break our laws, we will find you, we will arrest you, and we will deport you."

Moreno’s X post was accompanied by a letter sent to Lamont tying him to the Connecticut program that allows for illegal immigrants to be licensed on the road.

"Despite his lack of legal status, Connecticut issued him a driver’s license," Moreno wrote. "Horrifyingly, Connecticut not only permits illegal aliens to receive a driver’s license, but encourages it, all while Americans pay the ultimate price."

Moreno’s letter criticized Connecticut’s drive-only license program, backed by Lamont, which allows certain individuals who cannot establish legal presence in the United States or provide a Social Security number to obtain a license for driving purposes.

"Quite simply, your policies are killing my constituents," Moreno wrote to Lamont, adding, "You should be ashamed of this policy and its dangerous consequences, yet your support for illegal aliens knows no bounds."

Moreno also criticized Lamont’s 2024 proposal to remove the "drive-only" marking from the licenses, arguing that the change would make them difficult to distinguish from other non-REAL ID licenses. Lamont’s office said at the time that the change was intended to protect Connecticut residents from discrimination in other states.

Moreno asked Lamont to provide the number of drive-only licenses issued to people who are unlawfully present, how many recipients have committed crimes, how many registered or voted, and how much the program has cost taxpayers.

"I strongly suggest that you consider joining the vast majority of states that have adopted this common-sense requirement before another American citizen becomes the victim of vehicular manslaughter or is gravely injured by an illegal alien," Moreno wrote.

In a statement to Fox News Digital, Lamont said his "heart goes out to the family and friends of Austin J. Karr Grimes, and to all families who lose a loved one to a motor vehicle accident.."

"Drivers must be held accountable for violating traffic laws, especially when it causes a tragic loss of life," Lamont said. "States including Connecticut offer drive-only licenses to undocumented residents to help ensure all drivers are trained, tested, and know the rules of the road. This reduces hit-and-run accidents and brings more drivers into the insurance system who might otherwise be driving uninsured. Undocumented residents in many states already need to drive for work, school, and daily life; it’s safer for everyone when that driving happens within a regulated system."

Moreno responded on X on Thursday, saying, "The answer to the presence of illegal aliens is NOT to 'train them' and allow them on our roads to wreak havoc. The answer is to DEPORT them! Of course, Democrat politicians know this, but need a crop of dependent and obedient voters to keep them in power."

The question of illegal immigrants driving on American roads has become a Trump administration priority, with federal officials arguing that state-issued licenses can make it harder to identify and locate people in the country illegally.

The Justice Department sued New York in 2025 over its "Green Light Law," which allows illegal immigrants to obtain driver’s licenses while restricting the state from sharing DMV information with federal immigration authorities. The administration has also expanded ICE enforcement against criminal illegal immigrants, arguing that local arrests should trigger federal immigration action.

Mehek Cooke, a GOP strategist and attorney in Ohio, told Fox News Digital, "What is especially infuriating is that Connecticut Democrats get to congratulate themselves for being compassionate, while an Ohio family is left grieving the loss of 29-year-old Austin Karr Grimes."

"Connecticut made the policy choice, but Americans hundreds of miles away paid the price." Cooke said. "There is nothing compassionate about a policy that puts the interests of illegal immigrants ahead of the lives and safety of American citizens."

Alabama AG Marshall fires back at USPS mail-ballot order critics: ‘This is about securing elections’

Republican Alabama Attorney General Steve Marshall argues that his Democratic counterparts do not care about election integrity in the same way Republicans do, as they attempt to block measures designed to root out illegal voters they have long claimed do not exist.

Marshall addressed a legal challenge brought by 25 Democratic state attorneys general challenging President Donald Trump's executive order that included provisions for federal agencies to help states ensure only citizens receive mail-in ballots, and for the U.S. Postal Service to institute practices to make the ballots trackable.

"The left, because they’re concerned about losing at the midterms, want to be able to obstruct this administration’s efforts to ensure the integrity of our elections," Marshall told Fox News Digital this week, ahead of Thursday's oral arguments before U.S. District Judge Indira Talwani in Boston.

"You have to wonder – when those that are objecting to this – how confident they can be in the security of their elections, as opposed to becoming just a partisan opportunity to ensure the Democrats win and keep conservative voices from being heard, not only in local and state levels of government, but particularly in Washington."

DHS PLANS COSTLY CRACKDOWN ON STATES THAT DON’T COOPERATE ON ELECTION SECURITY

Marshall led a letter in July from 13 Republican attorneys general, backing the U.S. Postal Service's following up on Trump's March 31 executive order that set up an audit of states' voter rolls.

"There shouldn't be a reason why we object to that, but yet Democrats simply don't want to have fair elections in a way that people can have confidence," Marshall claimed.

Fox News Digital reached out to the Democratic Attorneys General Association for comment on Marshall's remarks, but they did not immediately respond.

Democrats, in various arguments to block the audit of voter rolls before the mailing out of absentee ballots, claim that it would lead to "disenfranchisement," "chaos," "unconstitutional overreach" and a partisan "power grab."

Democrats' concern is that if they refuse to share their voter rolls with the Department of Homeland Security and Social Security Administration to crosscheck the eligibility of legal voters, the USPS can stop the mailing of state's absentee ballots.

"USPS's interest in correcting an unsubstantiated problem through likely unconstitutional means is dwarfed by the overwhelming risk of pervasive disenfranchisement of citizens who need access to mail ballots in order to vote," Talwani, appointed by former President Barack Obama, wrote in her restraining order against the Trump administration.

"The postal service is not a partisan organization. As the postmaster said, I think most recently, we're just there to deliver the mail. They're experts in how it is that this can be configured."

Marshall stated that the problem of voter fraud is documented, not "unsubstantiated," as Talwani put it, with evidence in his own state.

"This is not a solution looking for a problem," he said. "This is in response to what we know is going on across the country. And this provides a commonsense, straightforward way for states to be able to ensure elections, but most importantly, for the people of this country to have belief that their elections in fact are accurate."

MAIL-VOTING CRACKDOWN MOVES AHEAD AS TRUMP COURT WIN OPENS DOOR TO FEDERAL ACTION

"It's not a shock that Democrats are standing up the ability for us to pass the SAVE [America] Act because they don't want to allow for there to be assurances of what is already in the law: That somebody here illegally cannot be able to vote," he added. "But here we have the president being able to make sure that we are allowing for government resources to be used in an appropriate way to simply allow those who are qualified to vote, vote, and those who aren't, don't."

Marshall has little confidence that the Obama-appointed judge in Boston is going to side with the Trump administration and the law.

"I would be remiss if I didn't say that I would fully expect her to continue with the Democratic Party line," he said. "The Trump administration has already filed a request with the First Circuit to try to get a stay of that order, but yet we're going to continue to battle this case along with the administration and look forward to standing beside them when they obtain this victory."

Marshall maintains Republicans are not stopping anyone from getting an absentee ballot – they're just trying to make sure the process is conducted legally and securely.

"Here we have a barcode that allows us to be able to connect it directly with the voter – we have the assurance that that ballot is being cast by the person in fact that receives that ballot," he said. "Democrats and Republicans alike ought to praise this as a commonsense effort to be able to restore election integrity in this area, but it's not a shock that Democrats have opposed it."

Marhall pointed to the 2005 bipartisan commission chaired by former President Jimmy Carter and former Secretary of State James Baker that identified mailed absentee ballots as being susceptible to fraud.

"This is about securing elections, not interfering with states' abilities to conduct elections, and we think that we'll be able to eliminate many of the issues that we've seen, including in Alabama, that have occurred in the past."

The restraining order Talwani issued will remain in place for up to one more week while she considers whether to issue a longer-term preliminary injunction blocking the rule. The hearing is Thursday in Boston, but the fight will go on from states on both sides as the midterm mail-in ballot season officially gets underway.

A Thai resort city began cracking down on prostitution ahead of the arrival of 5,000 U.S. sailors and Marines exhausted from months at sea in the Middle East.

The USS Abraham Lincoln docked near Pattaya, one of Thailand's primary nightlife areas, on Wednesday along with two other naval vessels, The Independent reported.

"We are doing our best, but it is difficult," Pattaya police chief Anek Srathongyoo said Monday of his department's efforts to curb prostitution in the city.

Florida police learn the hard way to not trust 'Crooked Jess' with money to buy crack for undercover operation

I'd like to think there's one officer that attended the meeting where an undercover drug bust was being discussed that raised a concern about using a person with an alias of "Crooked Jess" to buy the drugs.

I give a tip of the cap to that officer. The rest of the officers at the Pinellas County Sheriff's Office who were part of setting this undercover operation up and didn’t listen owe the officer an apology.

Back in March, "Crooked Jess" aka Jessica Straubel Sanchez made off with $60 she was given to purchase crack cocaine and disappeared, according to an arrest affidavit.

DITCHING HIS 'WHIZZINATOR' IN A PATROL CAR WAS FLORIDA MAN'S SECOND BAD DECISION OF DAY

Police finally caught up with the 41-year-old and arrested her on Saturday, reports The Smoking Gun. The undercover officer explained that Straubel was supposed to return with crack cocaine after being given $60 to buy it.

The officer watched as she walked over to the residence and went into the backyard. After an hour, which the officer pointed out is "more than a reasonable amount of time to wait for a narcotics transaction to occur between two subjects," she failed to return.

"Crooked Jess" had allegedly lived up to her name. She was nowhere to be found after officers drove around the area and came up empty. They also had no way of getting in touch with her because she "did not own a phone."

It was determined after a short search for her that she "had no intentions of coming back to facilitate the transaction and had deprived me of my money for her own use."

A truly shocking twist to the otherwise foolproof undercover operation meant to score some illicit narcotics from a known residence known for facilitating such activity.

TSG reports that along with the theft, "Crooked Jess" was charged with possession of drug paraphernalia. An officer had allegedly found fentanyl residue on some foil she had tucked away "within the defendant's undergarments."

As you may have guessed, this wasn't her first run-in with the police. She's had others. Call me a dreamer if you must, but my hope is that she hasn't been part of her last undercover drug bust. I'd like to see "Crooked Jess" be given a second chance here to make things right.
